The company announced the development of a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy in a letter to shareholders, but has not yet revealed any details.
As a reminder, the successor to Hogwarts Legacy was formally confirmed in the fall of 2024 by Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels.
The project became part of the conglomerate’s updated strategy.
As IGN noted, nearly two years later, Warner Bros. Discovery mentioned a “second part” of Hogwarts Legacy in its Q2 2026 earnings call to shareholders.
“As production expands, we expect a more significant contribution to revenue from games, including Hogwarts Legacy 2,” reads the official Warner Bros. Discovery document.
In other words, a potential Hogwarts Legacy 2 is already in the works, and Warner Bros. Discovery has high hopes for the project. It was previously reported that the sequel is one of WB Games’ top priorities.
The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but journalists suggest it can be expected in 2027 or, more likely, 2028.
