Insider Confirms When The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Will Be Released

Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb has clarified the release dates for the much-rumored remake of the cult fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion from Bethesda Game Studios on the GameBreaking News podcast. According to Grubb’s sources, the premiere (announcement and release) of the updated version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will take place during the last week of the month, that is, from April 21 to 27.

I’ve had multiple confirmations that [the game will be released] then. So shadowdrop in the last week of the month! I’m really looking forward to it,” Grubb said during a recent podcast. The journalist had previously claimed that Bethesda could roll out the remake “any time in April.”

Despite the noise online, Bethesda itself remains unperturbed. Last week, one user managed to squeeze some kind of answer out of it regarding the Oblivion remake. “We have no official information about the Oblivion remake. We apologize for any confusion,” the company replied. But in a situation like this, any studio would respond that way, so fans are still waiting by the sea.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion debuted on March 20, 2006 on PC and Xbox 360. The remake is expected to be developed by Virtuos Studios using Unreal Engine 5 and will feature improvements to at least six gameplay systems.
