Valve has released its weekly video game revenue chart for Steam for the week of February 18–25, 2025. Sid Meierʼs Civilization VII took the crown last time around, but now it sits at the bottom of the top five. The new king is Monster Hunter Wilds, which has climbed to the top spot among paid titles ahead of its February 28 release.
The achieved result became a record for Capcom games on Steam and more than doubled the best figures for previous parts of the series on the platform – Monster Hunter: World (334,684 players) and Monster Hunter Rise (231,360 people).
In the Steam rankings for maximum peak online, Monster Hunter Wilds took eighth place at release, ahead of Elden Ring (953.4 thousand players), Hogwarts Legacy (879.3 thousand people) and Baldur’s Gate 3 (875.3 thousand users).
Monster Hunter Wilds was released on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Critics were delighted with the game shortly before the premiere – the new product caught up with Monster Hunter: World in terms of rating on Metacritic (88-90%).
