Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick had to mention Grand Theft Auto VI again during his keynote at the iicon conference. And if you squint hard enough, you can discern a couple of interesting hints in his words.
The official price of GTA VI at launch hasn’t been revealed, but journalists and analysts expect the game to have a “previously unheard-of” price—between $80 and $100 for the standard edition.
Zelnick declined to confirm the price of GTA VI at iicon, but hinted that the ultra-premium price being discussed online isn’t part of Take-Two Interactive’s plans for the hotly anticipated game.
“How you feel about a product depends on the product itself and how much you paid for it. Consumers need to understand that the product is excellent and the price is fair,” Zelnick said.
The executive isn’t worried about how GTA VI will perform: “We’re thinking about how to make the most immersive entertainment experience ever—and that’s a serious challenge. If we succeed, then <…> success will come naturally.”
GTA 6 is coming out on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with a PC version rumored to launch in February 2027.
Incidentally, Zelnick also confirmed that Take-Two and Rockstar are considering the future of all their franchises, including L.A. Noire.
