‘Blood of Dawnwalker’ has become one of the most ambitious new RPGs of recent years, yet the journey to create it proved far more difficult than it appeared from the outside. According to Bloomberg, key former developers of ‘The Witcher 3’ spent nearly five years transforming a small independent studio into a team capable of releasing a AAA title with a budget of around $40 million.
According to Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, head of development for ‘The Blood of Dawnwalker’, team size and adherence to the original vision were key factors in keeping the game’s budget within reasonable limits.
During production, Rebel Wolves grew from 90 to 160 employees—with no plans for further expansion—and resolved to do everything possible to avoid reworking the fundamental aspects of the game that the studio’s founders had established back in 2022.

‘Blood of Dawnwalker’ is envisioned as the beginning of a new universe. Despite Rebel Wolves’ independent status, the team makes no secret of its ambition to build a long-term franchise should the debut game prove successful.
