Activision has unveiled a major story trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, revealing the premise of the popular series’ latest installment. The full release of the shooter is set for October 23, while owners of the game will gain access to the story campaign a week early, on October 16.
The story picks up after the killing of General Shepherd: Task Force 141 is disbanded, its leader John Price is declared a fugitive and goes on the run, and Ghost questions his rogue methods.
“Was Price right to take justice into his own hands, or did he betray everything he once stood for? Either way, he has now become a target. Ghost and Gaz are tasked with capturing or killing their former commander,” the premise reads.
Meanwhile, war erupts on the Korean Peninsula—with North Korea threatening to destabilize the entire world—and an unknown but extremely dangerous weapon risks falling into the hands of an enemy known as Archer.
As the ‘Modern Warfare 4’ story trailer reveals, the role of Archer is played by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, whom gamers may recognize as Cliff Unger from the delivery-focused action game ‘Death Stranding’.
