Sony has shared plans for a “technical” presentation on September 10, literally the day after the Apple event. It will last only nine minutes, and its host will be none other than Mark Cerny, the architect of the latest consoles.
Sony Interactive Entertainment did not specify what innovations in gaming technologies Cerny will talk about at the presentation, but the event is expected to announce the PS5 Pro – a more powerful version of the currently available PS5 console. Sony Interactive Entertainment is keeping the PS5 Pro a secret, but in a recent teaser for the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, a console design was noticed, which, according to insider billbil-kun, will be the more powerful version of the PS5.
In particular, the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling technology will play an important role – thanks to it, console users will be able to run games with ray tracing at a stable 60 frames, which is unattainable for the basic model. Games that suffer from FPS drops on the regular PS5 will run smoothly and without jerks on the PS5 Pro.
