Sony Promises PS5 Pro Game Updates To Be Free

The PS5 Pro console, officially announced the day before, unpleasantly surprised gamers with its price, but at least you won’t have to pay to update games for the more powerful version of the PS5.

One of the key technologies of PlayStation 5 Pro is the Game Boost function, designed to optimize the performance of video games developed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. Thanks to this function, users will be able to enjoy improved image quality and increased resolution in a number of popular titles.

So far, it is known that the first games to support this technology will include 13 popular titles:

Alan Wake 2;

Assassin’s Creed Shadows;

Demon’s Souls; Dragon’s Dogma 2;

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth;

Gran Turismo 7;

Hogwarts Legacy;

Horizon Forbidden West;

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2;

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart;

The Crew Motorfest;

The First Descendant;

The Last of Us Part II remaster.

These titles will receive free updates and will be marked as PS5 Pro Enhanced, indicating their compatibility with the updated version of the console. However, it is not yet entirely clear how exactly other games that are not optimized for the PlayStation 5 Pro will look and function.

The PS5 Pro will be released on November 7 and will cost $700/€800. The console is supplied without a disc drive – you will have to buy it separately ($80) or “transfer” it from the basic PS5.
