Sony Unlocks Almost All of Its Steam Games for Countries Without PSN

Following the success of Stellar Blade, Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided to unlock its games on Steam for regions where the PlayStation Network service was previously unavailable.

The company introduced a regional block for users of the Valve service in May 2024, restricting access to the shooter Helldivers 2. After that, the publisher PlayStation Publishing LLC stopped releasing other new products in places where a PSN account cannot be officially registered. When making the decision to close access to its products for PC users from a huge number of countries, Sony explained the requirement to link PSN by the need to “maintain order and security.”

Representatives of PlayStation Publishing LLC are not in a hurry to name the official reason for the return of games to the “forbidden” countries. Most likely, the decision was influenced by the successful release of the post-apocalyptic action game Stellar Blade on Steam.

Ghost of Tsushima, Until Dawn, and LEGO Horizon Adventures aren’t back on sale yet, but it might just be a matter of time.
