Following today’s leak, developers from the British studio Rockstar Games have confirmed the expansion of the platform geography of their open-world cowboy action game Red Dead Redemption.
Red Dead Redemption will be released on December 2, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android (including Netflix subscribers). The announcement was accompanied by a familiar gameplay trailer.
The new edition will feature technical improvements, including bug fixes. Netflix users will be able to download and play the title as part of their subscription. The game will also be available in the GTA+ library and PlayStation Plus catalog.
In the Undead Nightmare expansion, dedicated to zombie horror, gamers will be able to find a cure for the plague engulfing the Wild West. The DLC and Red Dead Redemption will include a full single-player mode and bonus content from the Game of the Year edition. Furthermore, the developers will allow gameplay to be carried over from previous playthroughs.
The game, first released in 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, tells the story of former outlaw John Marston, forced to hunt down his former accomplices under pressure from the US government. The action takes place in a fictional version of the Wild West and Mexico in the early 20th century.
Red Dead Redemption was released in May 2010 on PS3 and Xbox 360, arrived on PS4 and Switch in August 2023, and debuted on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Rockstar Games Launcher) last October. The game has sold over 27 million copies.
