Road to Vostok is set to launch in Steam Early Access on April 7, 2026. The game trailer showcases the game’s locations, dynamic events, and additional features that will be available from the start.
As a reminder, Lainonen began working on Road to Vostok in June 2022 and ported the game from Unity to Godot in the winter of 2023. The project was one of the biggest hits at the “Games to Be” demo festival in October and still had no release date.
Road to Vostok is set to launch in Steam Early Access on April 7, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a rich gameplay trailer.
Road to Vostok takes place in the post-apocalyptic border zone between Finland and Russia. Players must cross the border to reach the East—a dangerous zone where one mistake can mean death (permanent).
The game promises realistic shooting, shelter construction, merchants, a physics-based loot system and loot containers, and a dynamic world with day and night cycles, weather, and seasons (there are only winter and summer).
The game will be available for €14.99 with a 25% discount for the first two weeks. After the promotion ends, the price will increase to €19.99 until the full release.
