Micron has become the third supplier of GDDR7 memory chips for GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards. Previously, only Samsung and SK Hynix supplied memory chips for these accelerators.

The Korean portal Quasar Zone published detailed images of the printed circuit board of the Galax RTX 5060 graphics card, which for the first time in the history of the 50-series (Blackwell) were found to feature chips with the Micron logo instead of the usual modules from Samsung or SK Hynix.

The discovered chips belong to the MT68A512M32DF family. According to Micron’s official catalog, these are GDDR7 modules with a capacity of 2 GB (16 Gbit) each.

Until now, it was believed that the main memory suppliers for the 5000 series were the Korean giants Samsung and SK Hynix. The emergence of a third major player in the supply chain is an extremely positive sign: it will improve the stability of memory chip supplies amid a shortage.

It was previously reported that Micron would supply 28 and 32 Gbps GDDR7 memory chips to GeForce RTX 50-series graphics card manufacturers. However, there was no confirmation as to which models would be the first to receive the memory chips from this manufacturer.
