Following last year’s leak, publisher Daybreak Game Company and developers Cold Iron Studios officially unveiled the sequel to their co-op shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite via IGN.
The sequel will expand the original’s co-op component, with squads now able to accommodate up to four players instead of three. Players will once again assume the role of colonial marines and venture into the most dangerous corners of the Alien universe, where hordes of xenomorphs await.
The developers promise deeper team mechanics, redesigned character classes, and an increased emphasis on tactical interaction. Each class will have unique abilities and playstyles, and proper coordination will be the key to survival.
The developers paid special attention to enemies. The sequel will feature many new xenomorph species, which will be more aggressive and dangerous. Enemies will be able to set ambushes, attack from the shadows, and quickly surround the squad. To combat them, players will have a variety of weapons and special ammunition available, including fire and electrical rounds, as well as melee weapons.
One of the key new features will be the Specialist class. This will allow players to freely combine the primary and secondary abilities of different classes, creating unique builds to suit their playstyle or the needs of their team.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is expected to release this summer on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X, and S. According to information on the Valve website, the game will support eight languages.
