Recently, PC gamers have been reviving the memory of Empire Earth. The reason was the release of Rebellion, which decided to bring back classic strategy games. The three games are now available on Valve’s service.
The Empire Earth trilogy invites you to lead your chosen civilization/faction from ancient times to the distant future: discover new technologies, buildings, weapons, and build an empire capable of dominating the Earth.
The original Empire Earth was released in 2001 and became the fastest-selling strategy game of its time, selling 2 million copies by the time Empire Earth 2 was released in 2005. The final part of the trilogy, Empire Earth 3, followed in 2007.
25 years after their debut, the entire trilogy is now available on Steam. Empire Earth and Empire Earth 2 are available in gold editions, which include official expansions (The Art of Conquest and The Art of Supremacy, respectively).
All three games offer full single-player campaigns and eight-player multiplayer, but only over a local network—the official servers have long since been shut down. Languages other than English are not supported.
There’s a caveat: the developers have warned that since the official multiplayer servers are down, playing online is no longer possible.
