‘RetroSpace’ Demo Leaks On Steam

Hungarian studio The Wild Gentlemen, with the support of publisher Kwalee, announced the release of a demo of their retrofuturistic horror game RetroSpace, inspired by System Shock and 1960s and 1970s science fiction.

RetroSpace takes place on the Aurora 5 station, trapped in a sentient black hole, drifting through the endless void of space and constantly jumping between time periods.

Players take on the role of a janitor, humanity’s last hope, and must fight their way through the station through open combat or stealth and find a way home. Saving humanity, however, is optional.

Although the demo edition of RetroSpace is already out, it is positioned as a participant in the upcoming “Games to Be” demo festival, which will take place on Valve’s service from June 15 to 22.

The full version of RetroSpace promises “disco fever in the space satire genre,” a mix of immersive sim, humor, horror, stealth, and discopunk aesthetics, with low-poly graphics and Russian text translation.

RetroSpace will be released in 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
