American distributor Limited Run Games has announced a new collector’s edition of the cult game – it comes in a box that can also run Doom thanks to the built-in screen.
The exclusive edition will be available for PC and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch consoles. The set includes not only updated versions of the legendary game, but also themed accessories, including a game box with a screen on which you can run Doom, the game’s soundtrack on audio cassettes, a figurine of a cockodemon on a stand, a portable game console in the form of a cockodemon, a set of collectible cards and a certificate of authenticity.
Doom is an iconic first-person shooter released in 1993 that had a huge impact on the gaming industry. The game also stands out from its competitors because it is often launched on unusual devices: a toothbrush, a pregnancy test, a smartwatch, or on the screen on the box of Doom + Doom II Will It Run Edition.
Pre-orders for the Doom plus Doom II Will It Run Edition Collector’s Edition, which includes versions for Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation 5, and PC, will open on April 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM ET. It will be limited to 666 copies and will retail for $666.66.
