At the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026, American publisher and developer Blizzard Entertainment announced and released the first expansion for the legendary fantasy strategy game ‘Warcraft III’ since ‘The Frozen Throne’ in 2003.
‘Forsaken Kingdom’ is the first campaign for the game in 23 years. The expansion takes place in Lordaeron and the surrounding areas. According to the story, the kingdom’s inhabitants fell at the hands of the Scourge and were resurrected as its servants. Upon awakening, they must fight for their homeland under the leadership of Sylvanas Windrunner.
As the story unfolds, the undead establish a foothold in the catacombs near Lordaeron, founding the Undercity—their new capital—which is besieged on all sides by enemies such as the Scarlet Crusade and the forces of the Scourge. The developers noted that the kingdom’s story will explain “what it means to be Forsaken.”
Blizzard stated that players can look forward to 30 hours of content. The campaign itself consists of a prologue and three chapters.
In addition, Blizzard announced that the original version of the client is available in the store for all ‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ users who prefer classic ‘Warcraft 3’.
