“The Last of Us 3” Not to Happen
Over the past few years, fans have been talking online about a possible sequel to The Last of Us. The second part was met with mixed reviews by players, but fans of the series hoped that the developers would be able to fix all the mistakes of the sequel in the third part, and also continue to develop the universe. Game director Neil Druckmann commented on the fan discussions, saying that The Last of Us Part III should not be expected.
Naughty Dog is currently busy with the PS5 action game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet announced at The Game Awards 2024, so the studio won't have time for The Last of Us Part III in the coming years.
In 2023, Naughty Dog announced the cancellation of the multiplayer video game based on The Last of Us franchise.
