Witchfire Developers Reveals A Full Release Date

Polish studio The Astronauts, founded by former developers of Painkiller and Bulletstorm, has presented an updated development plan for the fantasy RPG shooter Witchfire, which is currently in early access.

This week, the development team published a lengthy blog post with a new Early Access roadmap for Witchfire. The Astronauts previously said they planned to fully release Witchfire about a year after its launch on the Epic Games Store, or “maybe a couple extra months.” However, it appears those plans have changed, with the new roadmap showing the shooter will exit Early Access in late 2025.

In the meantime, the development team has a lot of content planned for Witchfire over the next year or so. They plan to add “a lot more” enemies and bosses to the game. There are currently 15 weapons in the game, with “at least” 16 more weapons in development, as well as more spells and magic items.

Witchfire Early Access launched on September 20, 2023 in EGS. Gamers take on the role of a sacrificial warrior turned witch hunter. The project mixes elements of Souls games, evacuation shooters, and roguelikes.
