New “Doom: The Dark Ages” Gameplay Trailer

Bethesda Softworks and id Software have presented the second trailer for their brutal action shooter DOOM: The Dark Ages. The video includes not only fresh gameplay footage, but also excerpts from story cutscenes. Let us recall that the music for the game was written by composers of Borderlands 3 and The Callisto Protocol.

As a reminder, the events of Doom: The Dark Ages take place before Doom (2016). According to the plot of the new game, the Doom Slayer has become a prisoner of the Night Sentinels and is used by them when the situation with demons gets out of control. The second official trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages, which debuted at WrestleMania 41, shows how a space fortress fires a capsule with the Doom Slayer towards Earth. “The Slayer has been activated,” the voiceover says.

The nearly three-minute video also showed the main antagonist of Doom: The Dark Ages, who, despite the efforts of the Doom Slayer, seeks to destroy humanity: “I cannot be king while they fear only you.” The video also featured gameplay, including a medieval analogue of the destructive BFG-9000 cannon (a crossbow), a section in the Atlan combat robot, and a first look at the cyber-demonic Cthulhu.

DOOM: The Dark Ages releases on May 15 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC (including Game Pass).
