Less than a week has passed since the release of MindsEye, and the new release has already joined the ranks of the worst games according to Metacritic. And not just joined, but became the lowest-rated release in 2025 (at the moment).
As Insider Gaming noted, the first reviews of MindsEye from industry publications leave much to be desired. On the aggregator website Metacritic, the game’s rating is only 31% (PS5) and 43% (PC). The PC version of MindsEye received more ratings (seven versus four), so its rating is indicated on the game’s card. But even 43% is the worst result on Metacritic among 2025 releases.
Reviewers complain about a shallow story with forgettable characters, mediocre shooting, a poorly implemented open world, performance issues, and an abundance of bugs.
Story-driven action game MindsEye is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. It has “mostly negative” reviews on Steam.
The Build A Rocket Boy team is “working around the clock” to improve performance and make other improvements to the game.
