GSC Game World Finally Confirms S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl PS5 Release

Despite last year’s denials from the management of the GSC Game World studio, the post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is still being assembled for a new target platform.

As it became known, closer to the end of 2025, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on PS5. The announcement was accompanied by an unusual trailer, posted on the IGN YouTube channel.

Sony promises full support for the DualSense controller features in the console version, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. In addition, work is underway on additional technical improvements for the PS5 Pro, which may include increased resolution and a stable frame rate.

Notably, user modifications may be integrated into the game along with the release on the new platform. Full mod support appeared on PC at the beginning of the summer, and now the community is actively creating new locations, quests, and improvements. It is possible that some of these features will migrate to PlayStation, expanding the players’ ability to customize the Zone for themselves.

T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20, 2024 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. In two days, the game sold over a million copies, and by March, the total audience of the project reached 6 million people.
