Microsoft is working on launching a free, ad-supported version of Xbox Cloud Gaming. According to The Verge, an internal build of the service is already available to company employees: they can play select games without a Game Pass subscription.
However, there are some caveats. First, you’ll need to watch a forced ad before streaming (about two minutes during testing). Second, the plan will have time limits.

Microsoft is currently testing a one-hour session limit (with five free hours per month). Warren admits that these limits may change before the official announcement.

The free Xbox Cloud Gaming service will be available on PC, Xbox consoles, handheld devices, and in-browser play. The company plans to launch a public beta test in the coming months, after which the service will become more widely available.
