Entalto Publishing and the Italian studio One-O-One Games (The Suicide of Rachel Foster) have announced the first-person psychological thriller The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline, based on The Divine Comedy.
The game offers a dark and introspective reimagining of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The protagonist is Gabriele Alighieri, an ordinary man forced to confront the difficult legacy of his family. Every 33 years, the boundary between hell and reality blurs, and to save his family and the world, Gabriele must return to his ancestral Italian villa and perform an ancient ritual.
The gameplay revolves around exploring two realities. Players will explore a quiet, secret-filled estate, discovering diaries and clues from the past, and then delve into a twisted dimension of hell—a world that reacts to the protagonist’s inner state. Thematic puzzles related to the character’s traumas and Alighieri’s legacy play a key role, as does the search for the lost pages of the Divine Comedy, which are needed to seal the gates.
The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline is being developed for PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X, and S. There’s no release date, but a demo will be available on February 19th at the Steam Next Fest on Valve.
