Game Informer has published an exclusive gameplay video for the upcoming Gothic remake. It features 20 minutes of live gameplay footage, along with commentary from journalists.
The events of Gothic and its remake take place in a prison colony, sealed off from the rest of the world by a magical barrier (allowing entry but not exit), where the Nameless One, a convict whose arrival will change everything, finds himself.
To progress through the story, the player must join one of three factions, which also determines the character’s development: the Old Camp, the New Camp, and the Swamp Camp. Gameplay from Game Informer focuses on the latter location.
Game Informer journalists showed the Nameless One exploring the Swamp Camp and its surrounding areas, communicating with the settlement’s inhabitants, and fighting blood flies.
Fans of the original Gothic were impressed by the transformation of the familiar location and are eagerly awaiting the upcoming release. “I must say, Swamp Camp looks amazing,” frozealex3069 commented.
Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release on June 5th of this year. Target platforms include PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X.
