Within five days of its release, Atomfall’s audience reached 1.5 million people, as developers Rebellion reported in a press release for the media. The game also had the most successful launch in the studio’s history.
Set in the Cumbrian Exclusion Zone five years after the Sellafield nuclear accident in Windscale, Atomfall challenges players to uncover the secrets of what happened in 1957.
Rebellion co-founder and CEO Jason Kingsley said that reaching a million players in such a short period of time “speaks volumes about the creativity and dedication” of the team.
“Our studio’s size and stability allow us to take risks and make something different like Atomfall. Fortunately, those risks have paid off,” Kingsley said.

The action game is available on PC, two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and also in the Game Pass subscription service. Atomfall has more than two thousand reviews on Steam, 75% of which are positive.
