System Shock 2 Remaster Gets New Trailer and Release Date

At the spring Future Games Show, a trailer for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster was presented, comparing the original and the updated version. Characters, weapons and animations have become more detailed, and the environment is darker and more lively.

The remaster promises to update “all cutscenes, textures, character models and weapons”, support for 4K, 144 fps on PC, ultra-wide monitors and user modifications, as well as cooperative multiplayer.

System Shock 2 takes place in 2114 on the Von Braun starship captured by monsters and the artificial intelligence SHODAN. The original game was released in 1999 and, despite weak sales, became a cult classic.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will be released on June 26 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch, as well as PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
