Samsung Unveils 3D Gaming Monitor
Samsung has introduced a new gaming monitor, Odyssey 3D, whose unique feature is the ability to display three-dimensional images without the use of special glasses or accessories.
Realistic 3D images from 2D content on the Samsung Odyssey 3D monitor are created using LFD (Light Field Display) technology with a lenticular lens on the front panel. When combined with Eye Tracking and View Mapping technologies, Odyssey creates a 3D image that does not require glasses to view: Eye Tracking uses a built-in stereo camera to track the movements of both eyes of the user, and View Mapping adjusts the output image to maintain the effect of depth.
